The Village of Yorkville Police Department is dedicated to promoting public safety and community health. Our Medical Drop Box program offers a safe, secure, and anonymous way for residents to dispose of unwanted, expired, or unused prescriptions. Proper pharmaceutical disposal is vital to preventing accidental misuse and protecting our community’s water supply and local ecosystem.

How the Drop Box Program Works

01

Prepare

Check your medications against the acceptable items list. Keep them in original containers if possible, or place loose pills in a clear, sealed plastic bag. We recommend blacking out personal names on prescription labels for privacy.

02

Arrive

Visit the Yorkville Police Department lobby. The drop box is located inside for security and community safety. Access is available during normal business hours from 7am - 3pm everyday, ensuring you can dispose of medications at a time that is most convenient for you.

03

Deposit

Simply place the items through the secure slot on the medical drop box. There are no forms to fill out, and no check-ins are required. Your contribution helps keep these dangerous substances out of our community’s water and reach.
